Coyio LtdDescription: Nuts and confectionery manufacture COYIO LIMITED, was established in Cyprus in 1981, as a private company limited by shares, by Mr. Kostas Papanissiforou, a pastry cook with many years of experience in the bakery industry. Since then he has managed to achieve high quality, excellent service and competitive prices in the fields of nut processing and the production of confectionery items, both in Cyprus and foreign markets. The good reputation of COYIO LIMITED is based on the full compliance with its obligations, not only for legal reasons but also because of its integrity and honesty. Reorganisation of the Company During the last months of 1997, the Company moved to its new building facilities located in the industrial area of Ayios Silas, Ypsonas. The year 1999 brought with it the internal reorganisation and the technological upgrading of the equipment of the Company. Having this in mind, the Company appointed a quality manager, who attended special seminars on the quality systems ISO900 and HACCP in order to introduce them in the Company. Moreover, all the staff was trained on hygiene subjects specially designed for food industries. During the second half of 1999, the Company introduced successfully three new products into the market: individual cakes, individual Cypriot candies and individual coconut rolls. The Company also brought a new innovation in nut processing: Nuts are packed in a special packaging, namely the Protective Atmosphere, which prevents the formation of microorganisms in the nuts, keeping them fresh and clean. Moreover, we have created a website in the Internet (www.coyio.com) to further enhance the image of the Company, both locally and on an international level. The Company has upgraded its computers as well as its accounting system to make them compatible with the year 2000 and conduct transactions in foreign currency. At the same time the equipment and production tools have been inspected, and it has been established that they are also in line with the demands of the new millenium. Line of Production of Confectionery Items The line of production of confectionery items by COYIO, is located in an area of 1800m2 and is operated under strict hygienic conditions by specially trained labour force. Main Stages in the Production of Confectionery Items The first stage in the production of confectionery items is the preparation of the quantity. At this stage they are prepared in quantity and the ingredients to be used go through a quality control. Next comes the Sterilisation of the tools of the equipment intended to be used at the next stages of production. This is followed by the blending of ingredients and the placing of the mixture in special devices for baking. After the Sterilisation of the packing devices follows the packaging of the final product, which is then transferred to the storage room for products intended for sale. Line of Production and Packaging of Nuts Koyo's line of production and packaging of nuts is located in an area of 1800m2 and is equipped with the latest technology for the sorting out, roasting and packaging of nuts. Because we want to keep the original taste and aroma of raw nuts used for production, our factory is also equipped with a modern refrigerating room, where the temperature and humidity are being constantly monitored. With a constant and direct monitoring by specially trained staff, all our products are controlled at every stage of production. Main Stages in the Production of Nuts The first stage in the production of nuts is always the Sterilisation of the machine used for sorting out the nuts. It is followed by the selection of the raw materials. At this stage the inspection of the materials intended for use is carried out and they go through quality control, depending on the product; foreign bodies are also removed. All this is then followed by the Sterilisation of the tools and the salting mixer, which are going to be used at the following stages of production. Then comes the salting process and the placing of the nuts into special roasting devices. After the roasting of the nuts there is one more quality control of the final product, which is then packaged and later transferred to a store room, especially designed for keeping nuts.
